How do I install the WAY Slack App?
When you create a free WAY account, you will be given the option to install the WAY Slack app to your Slack workspace during onboarding.
If you missed it, you can always install it from our Slack page or from your Organization Settings within WAY (only accessible when you are logged in).
You will be redirected to Slack's website, where you will be asked to allow WAY to access your Slack workspace.
After you successfully gave our WAY app the permission to access your Slack workspace, you will find the app in the Apps section of your Slack. We would recommend you star it, so the app is always easy to reach.
How do I use the WAY Slack app?
Open the WAY app in your Slack sidebar. You will be presented with a welcome screen.
On this screen, you can (1) create a new conversation with our support team, (2) jump right to your currently active conversations with our support team and (3) view your previous messages that have been archived.
Start by creating your first conversation. Click on the Create New Conversation button.
A new dialog will appear. Here you can choose a subject for the conversation and provide a little description of what your conversation will be about.
Access Request: You can use this subject whenever you want to ask our support staff to provide access to anything for you or one of your colleagues. You can request access to software, files, email inboxes and many more.
Hardware Incident: Oh no, something happened to one of your company provided devices? Have no fear, use this subject to inform us about anything ranging from a little coffee spill onto your keyboard to one of your devices being stolen.
General Question: This subject is for anything that isn't an Access Request, a Hardware Incident or Offboarding-related. You have a question or need us to do something for you? This is the right subject.
Offboarding: You want to inform us about a colleague that will be leaving your company soon? Choose this subject. Unlike the other subjects, this will give us additional inputs for choosing the employee who is to be offboarded and the exact offboarding date.
Every new conversation creates a new messaging thread inside the Messages tab of our Slack app. The conversation will show up as an active conversation on the welcome screen. Our app will mention your username, so you get notified about the new message thread. Open the Messages tab to find the thread.
